BIOGRAPHY

Lesley Baker is a ceramic artist working with both sculptural and functional forms. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis, IN. Previously she was a Lecturer at UC Berkeley and the California College of the Arts.

Lesley Baker was raised in San Antonio, Texas. She received her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, and BED from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

She has been an Artist in Residence at the Mendocino Art Center, the Archie Bray Foundation, Watershed Center for Ceramic Art, and the Kohler Arts/Industry Program.

She has taught workshops at the Mendocino Art Center, RISD, Utah State, Idyllwild Arts, and Heath Ceramics.

Lesley has exhibited across the US and internationally, including solo exhibitions at Braunstein/Quay in San Francisco and Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA. She is in the collections of the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, Utah State University, the Archie Bray Foundation, and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.

Her work has been published in Ceramics Monthly. She also is in "The Yixing Influence" by Marvin Sweet and "500 Cups" by Suzanne Tourtillott.
